Giant chocolate chip cookies

We frequently go to Cookie Love, a local cookie bakery near a hike that we enjoy to do as a family on weekends. The cookies have sadly gotten very expensive, and the ice cream prices were also unaffordable last time. So...finally I have to bend my head down to the task of perfecting chocolate chip cookies. The way I like them. The way the family likes them. These came out amazingly tasty!

Ingredients

0.5 cup salted butter

0.75 cup brown sugar

1 tsp vanilla

1 large egg

1.5 cup flour

0.5 tsp baking soda

0.25 tsp baking powder

0.5 tsp salt

1 cup chocolate chips

Preparation

Preheat oven to 375F. Line a large cookie sheet with parchment paper.

Mix the flour, baking soda and powder, and salt in a bowl.

Cream the softened butter with the sugar. Beat in the egg and the vanilla until light and and the sugars are dissolved.

Mix in dry ingredients until just combined.

Mix in the chocolate chips.

Portion 3 tbsp balls onto the cookie sheet.

Bake in the preheated oven for 8 minutes, then press down with the flat bottom of a glass to the desired thickness.

Cook for another minute, until bottom is lightly browned. More baking here results in more crispy cookies: I like them soft!

Allow to cool on pan for a few minutes, before moving them onto a cookie rack to complete the cooling process.

Yummy!
