Strawberry chocolate cake


Sometimes reshaping old recipes is a perfect way to create something new! I struggle with birthday cake ideas. My toddler loved this real strawberry whipped cream, but I wanted to incorporate it into a cake for her birthday, so everyone else could enjoy a slice of cake as well. As predicted, she ate only the topping. But everyone else had a delicious cake!

Preparation

Use the cake layer of this cake.

Use the strawberry whipped cream from this cake.

Cool the bottom layer before spreading the top layer on it.

Refrigerate for a few hours for the best texture!

In a different version I found that using the chocolate cake layer recipe, if you eliminate the cocoa, add extra vanilla, and replace the cocoa with extra flour: you get an even better, nonintrusive, vanilla base for this strawberry cake!

The left over cream is delicious as cupcream.
