Gundel palacsinta

This fantastic Hungarian crepe is the quintessential holiday dessert. I firmly believe that if Christmas had a taste, this would be it! Aromatic and so packed with flavor, every bite  unbelievably delicious!

Ingredients

16 crepes

150g ground walnuts

3 tbsp sugar

100mL water

150mL cream

zest and juice of an orange

zest of a lemon

1 tsp ground cinnamon

0.5 tsp ground cloves

Sauce:

200g semi-sweet chocolate

200mL heavy cream

50mL rum

Preparation

Boil the sugar, water, zests, and orange juice with the spices until all the sugar dissolves. Add the ground nuts and simmer stirring until it becomes a thick paste.

Add the heavy cream and bring to a boil again.

Heat the 200mL heavy cream and pour onto the chocolate chunks. Allow to melt and stir until smooth. Mix in the rum.

Fill the crepes and dress with chocolate sauce. Serve!
