This is a delicious dessert that does not resemble Hungarian strudel, but it is nevertheless tasty and very easy to make,
Ingredients
4-5 large apples
1 tsp cinnamon
juice of 1 lemon
1 cup raisins
0.25 cup sugar
4 tbsp butter
8 oz frozen puff pastry
Preparation
Preheat oven to 375F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Peel and core the apples and slice into thin slices. Toss the apple slices with the lemon juice, 2 tbsp sugar, the raisins, and 2 tbsp of the butter sliced into thin slices.
Roll the puff pastry into a very thin sheet, around 1/8-inch-thick.
Spread the apple filling over 1/2 of the puff pastry sheet. Roll the other half over it and tuck under a small area and pinch sealed.
Brush with 2 tbsp melted butter, sprinkle with cinnamon and 2 tbsp sugar. Cut a few vents into the top.
Bake for about 30-40 minutes, until pastry is golden brown. Serve with vanilla ice cream!
