Darazsfeszek

Walnut rolls, a delicacy called "hornet's nest" in Hungarian. These rolls are soft with a moist, irresistible ground walnut filling. Easy to prepare, good for the brain, with some absolutely fantastic oils for brain development found in walnuts.

Ingredients

500g flour

3 egg yolks

3 tsp yeast

200mL water

1 tsp sugar

pinch of salt

filling:

150g walnuts

75g butter

75g sugar

0.5 cup milk

1 tbsp vanilla sugar

3 egg whites

Preparation

Bloom the yeast with the water and sugar. Mix in the egg yolks, flour, salt and knead into a smooth dough. Allow to rest for 30 minutes.

Butter a 9-by-13 glass dish.

Whip the butter with the sugar. In a food processor grind the walnuts, then add the butter and sugar mix and the egg whites.

Roll out the dough into 0.5-inch-thick. Spread with the walnut filling and roll up. Cut into 8-12 rolls. Place into the baking sheet. Allow to rise for about 30 minutes in a warm place, until airy and puffy.

Bake in a 350F oven until light brown. Pour the milk mixed with the vanilla sugar on top and set back in the oven for a few minutes, for the milk to absorb. Serve!
