These hot sandwiches can be served in multiple different ways. The amazing ground meat filling is like a meatball sub in the form of a sandwich spread. Delicious with toasted mozzarella on top.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
2 hot Italian sausages
1 yellow onion
3 cloves garlic
15 oz tomato sauce
6 oz tomato paste
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp fennel seed
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1 tsp sugar
salt
pepper
bread crumbs
Preparation
Brown the meats with the diced onion and crushed garlic. Add the spices and cook for a minute or two. Add the tomato products and simmer until thick.
Season with salt and pepper and thicken with a few tbsp bread crumbs so it's spreadable. Amazing on bread topped with mozzarella and broiled.
