Black bean burgers


Absolutely delicious substitute for a meaty burger. Even better with some garlic aioli and avocado slices added on top.

Ingredients
16 oz can of black beans
1 jalapeno
2 slices of bell pepper
0.5 yellow onion
3 cloves garlic
1 egg
1 tsp chili powder
0.5 tsp cayenne
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp sweet chili sauce
0.5 cup bread crumbs

Preparation
Drain and rinse the black beans. Mash up with a fork.

In a food processor process the deseeded jalapeno, bell pepper, and onion. Press out excess juices and add to the black beans.

Crush the peeled garlic cloves into the bean mix. Add the spices, breadcrumbs, egg, and season lightly with salt. Mix well.

Shape into 4-5 patties and fry in a small quantity of oil. These can also be frozen and fried up in a pan straight out of the freezer. Delicious!
