Apple tart with vanilla custard

A quick and easy way to prepare any leftover apples that may have gotten old and wrinkly over this long winter. The filling is delicious, the crust simple.

Ingredients
175 g flour
50 g icing sugar
75 g butter
1 egg
2 tbsp vanilla sugar
pinch of salt

2 tbsp flour
60 g sugar
100 mL heavy cream
100 mL milk
2 eggs
3 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp vanilla sugar
3 medium apples
pinch of salt

Preparation
Preheat oven to 375F. Melt the butter for the crust. In a bowl, mix the flour, icing sugar, 2 tbsp vanilla sugar, and salt. Add the melted butter and the egg. Mix until dough forms.

Roll out on a floured surface and line a 10-inch tart shape with it.

Peel and core the apples. Slice into thin slices and arrange onto the crust in circles.

Mix the flour with the sugars and salt for the vanilla cream. Whisk in the cream, milk, and the eggs. Pour onto the apples. Bake until apples are lightly browned. Cool and serve.
