Hungarian golden dumplings

I guess this would fit in the category of monkey bread, except it's stuck together with walnuts, rather than cinnamon and raisins.

Ingredients
250g flour
25 g sugar
25 g butter
2 tsp yeast
0.25 tsp salt
1 egg
130 mL milk
grated zest of a whole lemon

100g ground walnuts
50 g sugar
0.25 tsp cinnamon
0.25 cup butter

Preparation
Warm up the milk, butter and sugar, mix in the egg while the mixture is lukewarm. Add the yeast and bloom it.

Add the flour and salt lemon zest, and knead until elastic dough forms. Allow to double in a bowl, coated with a little bit of oil.

Punch down the dough and roll out into 1 inch thick. With a small cutter cut little balls out of it.

Brush them with butter and roll in the mixture of the walnut, sugar and cinnamon.

Place into greased+floured baking shape.

When all the dough was cut and coated, cover and allow to rise for another doubling in a warm place.

Bake at 350F for 40-45 minutes, until golden brown and center is cooked.

Allow to cool and serve with vanilla sauce.
