Fried plantains

Not my favorite. I love bananas, so I thought I would like this too. Ironically my problem with the dish was its overwhelming banana flavor.
Plantains come as green, yellow and blackened fruits. In this order the flavor progresses from something rather starchy, to something cloyingly sweet. Well, mine were supposed to be in the middle of this scale, yet somehow they wound up extremely sweet.

Ingredients
4 plantains
vegetable oil

Preparation
Cut off the ends of the plantains and peel them. Slice slanted into 0.5 inch-thick pieces.

Heat vegetable oil in a pan on medium-high. When hot, add the plantain slices. Fry until golden brown.

Try with the yellow plantains, don't wait for the black stripes at all.
