Scalloped potatoes

This has got to be one of my favorite side dishes of all time.

Ingredients
8 large potatoes
0.5 yellow onion
5 tbsp butter
1/3 cup flour
1.5 tbsp salt
1 tsp vegeta
0.5 tsp pepper
3 cloves garlic
5 cup milk
2 oz parmesan

Preparation
Chop the onion and saute in butter until translucent, add the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Add the flour, salt black pepper and fry until it smells like bread.

Add cold milk gradually, 1 cup at a time.

Whisk thoroughly. Bring to a boil and cook for about 2 minutes, until thickened.

Thinly slice the peeled potatoes. Place them in cold water until you use them. Layer the potatoes with the sauce. Bake in a preheated 350F oven for 60 minutes.

Grate the cheese and sprinkle on top, bake for an additional 45 minutes. This time depends on how thinly you sliced the potatoes. But you definitely don't want al dente scalloped potatoes.
